Our commitment

The welfare of every child who attends is our first priority, ahead of results, ahead of development, ahead of everything. We are committed to providing a safe, positive environment where children are listened to and treated with respect, whatever their background, ability or needs.

What we do

• DBS checks. Coach Will holds an enhanced DBS check. Anyone else who works unsupervised with children will hold one before they start.
• First aid. Coach Will is first aid trained and carries a first aid kit to every session.
• Registers. Every session is registered, so we always know who is present.
• Parents on site. A parent or guardian stays for the whole session, so children are never left in sole care.
• Medical alerts. Allergies, asthma and medical needs are flagged to the coach before the session starts.
• Images. No photograph or video is taken or published without specific parental permission.
• Risk assessment. The venue and activities are risk assessed, and the session is adapted for weather and ground conditions.

Our coaching standards

• We never single a child out for criticism, and we never shout at a child.
• We avoid being alone and unobserved with a child.
• We do not contact children directly. All communication goes through parents and guardians.
• We take any concern a child raises seriously, and we act on it.

Raising a concern

If anything at all concerns you, whether something you saw, something your child said, or just a feeling that something is not right, please tell us. You will be listened to and taken seriously.

How we respond

Any concern is recorded, taken seriously and, where it involves a child's safety, referred to the appropriate local authority or the police. We do not investigate safeguarding allegations ourselves.
